Overview
The Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI) is hosting a statewide event April 4-6, 2025. The theme is “Spring into Self-Determination,” partnering with the I’m Determined team in an action-packed youth and family event. Sessions for youth and families will focus on self-advocacy, disability awareness, and other self-determination components, culminating in a visit to Busch Gardens!

This event is hosted and sponsored by the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI). Members of the I’m Determined team are helping to facilitate sessions and activities relating to self-determination. All questions should be sent to the DBVI staff listed below.

Application
To participate in these DBVI opportunities, students must be receiving Vocational Rehabilitation services or determined potentially eligible so that funding can be reserved for the selected activities. Please contact your Education Coordinator, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, or call (800) 622-2155 to be connected to a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in your area.
Go to the DBVI application page. Scroll down to “Upcoming Events” and look for the Universal Application (English, Spanish). DBVI uses one application for all events, so you will need to check the “Spring Into Self-Determination” option on the application to attend this event.
