Learn About Presenting at the Youth & Family Summit

Presenter Update
We are excited to share that we already have a great group of dynamic presenters lined up to lead our formal family sessions on Wednesday, June 10th. These presenters will focus on the core components of self-determination: Competence, Autonomy, and Relatedness.
Seeking Sip ‘n’ Chat Exhibitors
We are currently seeking additional statewide non-profit organizations to participate in our unique Sip ‘n’ Chat session on Thursday, June 11th, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m..
Unlike a traditional exhibitor event or vendor fair, the Sip ‘n’ Chat is designed to facilitate meaningful, intimate discussions and personalized conversations between service providers, youth, and family members/guardians.
What makes an amazing Sip ‘n’ Chat table?
- Engagement: Providers should be ready for informal, flexible, round-table discussions rather than formal presentations.
- Staffing: To ensure a better flow of conversation, each table must have at least two representatives available to talk with youth and families.
- Accessibility: Organizations should provide resources in a variety of formats that are easy to understand for a diverse audience.
- Intentionality: We encourage signs that prompt interaction, such as “Ask me about [Your Specialty]”.
Sip ‘n’ Chat Logistics:
- Location: Grand Ballroom/Foyer in the Festival Event & Student Center at James Madison University.
- Setup: Round tables with 6–8 chairs.
- Power: Please note that power outlets will likely not be available; plan to bring laptops or iPads with a full charge if you need to reference online materials.
- Materials: Please bring enough resources for approximately 100 attendees.
